Finding the right anaesthetist for advice and referrals

In addition to the advice and Unit-Specific Guidelines, we are always happy to offer phone advice and see patients.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (am only) and Tuesdays (am and pm) there is a consultant anaesthetist scheduled to a session in PAC-Anaesthesia. They are happy to take phone-calls in the mornings, and offer face to face advice in the afternoons. They can often see patients at short notice, especially if it is particularly inconvenient for that patient to return for a separate appointment (eg country patients).
On Fridays there is no consultant anaesthetist scheduled to PAC-Anaesthesia. On these days you should contact the relevant Clinical Lead Anaesthetist.
Consultant anaesthetists are happy to be contact via Switchboard. Initial contact should always be in person or via telephone, not email.
In the event that none of the above are available, please call the In-Charge Anaesthetist (4471). They will co-ordinate appropriate advice or patient review.
